Our home base: hardscape for Marlborough yards
Marlborough is where Machado Landscaping & Construction Inc is based, so the city is the place we know best. It is a mix of settings in a small footprint. Downtown, along Main Street through the Marlborough Center Historic District, older homes sit close together with narrow side yards, steep front steps and walkways that have heaved over decades. Out toward East Marlborough and the neighborhoods off Route 20 and Route 85, lots get larger, with split-levels, capes and colonials built over several generations.
Then there is the water. Fort Meadow Reservoir on the Hudson line, Lake Williams near the center and the land around Ghiloni Park shape a lot of yards here: lower spots, higher groundwater and slopes that drain toward the street or the house. That is why so many Marlborough projects we quote are not just about looks. A new patio or walkway often has to solve a drainage problem at the same time.
